Heard Frankie??
Feb 21st, 2008 at 5:40pm

I would like to offer up and idea for a thread in this forum. It seems FGTH music is still very popular and still being played on the radio and used for trailers on tv etc and I think it would be a good idea to have a thread where people can list when and where they hear FGTH. I know it usually gets mentioned on this board when Frankie are used for a an ad campaign but the posts are all over the place over many years and I thought it may be a good idea to have some continuity in one thread. Pete Wylie has one on his messageboard and it is a good way of keeping track? You can see his below and get the general idea

I added something not dissimilar with my 'Frankie spotted...' thread. It seem to start with general sightings as opposed to hearings but it's getting both now.

I'm quite happy for this one to take over though. Wink

maybe the adminteam could open a dedicated topic at the top of the frankie board next to the file forum rules topic and then it would stay there on view at all times?

As mentioned before 'Two Tribes' used as the soundtrack to a future news on BBC3's (17/2/08) 'Phoo Action'. Terrible programme.

Two radio stations in Dublin regularly play some Frankie and Holly and both can be listened to online.

Q102 have a programme called 'Boogie Nights' every Friday and Saturday night ("Relax" and "Americanos" seem to be the two favourites). Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login Login or Register Register

Today FM host 'Friday Night 80s', 7pm-11pm. ("Relax", "Two Tribes" and "Welcome to the Pleasuredome" all feature fairly regularly). Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login Login or Register Register

Emailing the shows with requests does get results!  Cool

Nice One. "Two Tribes" used in trailer for new series on ITV called "Rock Rivals". Seems to be a drama based on x factor. Can't wait...not.

How much would you typically get from these snippits - is it the price of a pint on a Friday? Wink

I seem to remember a feature on a show about Madonna's 'Ray of Light' which featured some stuff written by an otherwise unknown writer earned £27 for being played during the show.

Is Rock Rival's the one written by Ben Elton?

It's quite an odd story about the people in a pop-idol like show...
