Fantastic mix! Thanks for the link - unfortunately the download keeps cutting of at around 6mb. Sad

Maybe some of you that has downloaded the free mix can upload to the ff?

I had the same problem, but tried again today and it downloaded just fine.... Smiley

If any masters were used in the making of that remix (as they claim on their blog) then I'm a monkey's uncle. It's the lp (SACD) version /standard 7" version mixed together, with a delay unit, a drum machine and some quiet synths. A nicely done fake though.

Yes - now it works  Smiley

Regardless of how the mix was made, it is refreshing to hear a mix in the original 80' spirit.

Hi,

Some more info ... it's available for order as a 12" for 5.99 UKP from Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login Login or Register Register

BTW, they ship internationally too, I'm in Thailand nowadays and they have shipped to me several times with no problems.

This remix came about as when Danny (Mekanik) & Kelvin (Andrews) were working in SARM studios with Trevor Horn on the most recent Robbie Williams record. By coincidence the management there were working on a Frankie Goes to Hollywood 'Best of’ and were commissioning remixes. Being fans (who isn’t?), Danny and Kelvin got right on it and made this very subtle rework. Mainly following the original version’s structure and instrumentation, the changes are in the detail of the arrangement and a very deftly added dose of ‘oomph’ (technical term), turning a seminal record into a surefire dancefloor bomb. People go bonkers when this is played out.

Their remix ended up being finished a bit late (what with them being in the middle of working on Robbie’s album) and not getting delivered on time, but, it is kind of brilliant. It’s a shame to keep it locked up, so here's a crafty white label version for all us vinyl junkies.

Enjoy!

It's a remix for someone with an eye for the finer detail. To speak in ZTT terms...  Wink

It's far better than the 90's shit!  Cool

I ordered mine after my original post and it arrived safely in the post about a week later (due to international post).

Piccadilly Records have been around for many years in Manchester and are a well known Indie Record shop in the area. They take part in Record Week, have regular in-store performances etc. I used to regularly go to the shop when I lived there.
