I don't know where i got that from i must have read it somewhere at the time. I do remember hearing the album version for the first time and feeling disappointed that it wasn't the single mix that was on it which is far better in my opinion.

"For the victims of ravishment" is what appears on my original vinyl version.  Curiously my original CD had the Annihilation mix, but that was also referred to as "For the victims of ravishment".

I have a 7" vinyl of the album version and that just says "Two Tribes".  To me it will always be the "album version".  i.e. not as good as the original 7".

To me it will always be (For the Victims of Ravishment) but either way I agree, it's not as good as the original 7".

The way I look at it is that we seem to have accepted the mislabelling of Wish/Ballad of 32 so why change now for Two Tribes? Smiley

Just goes to show what a dog's breakfast ZTT made of the tracklisting - clearly Morley was too busy quoting Goethe to proof read the artwork and no-one at the Blue building was on his wavelength...

...but that's pretty much everyone I reckon. It would appear even Claudia found the conversation a little challenging. Smiley

It could have also been that sleeves were printed before the final master was finished, a tracklist was approved but things changed in the studio or mastering later. this happens a lot and with a release like this they wouldn't have had the time or money to trash the lot and redo it.

'Tis true but that would imply that Love has got a gun wasn't planned to be included leaving side 3 very short indeed...unless they were going to do a full length Ferry 'cross the Mersey and/or a Ballad of 32 as long as that on the recent deluxe edition.

I can't remember exactly what was said but we were told that Wish (the lads were here) was the mini-track between what was Love has got a gun and Ballad of 32. To me it looks like 'Wish' was a simple song name change and nothing else as 'Wish you were here' is in the Love has got a gun lyrics.

Two Tribes without a title could only appear as the 7" version and even then we know it as (Cowboys and Indians). If you look at the album cover, Relax, War and Two Tribes all have what appear to be a mix title underneath the song name. As Two Tribes is different to the 7" it suggests that the mix is called (for the victims of ravishment) and and that (Tag) is unlisted.

It may be true (Tag) is (...ravishment) but the way it's printed makes that difficult to wholly accept without seeing further evidence.

Oh, it also means we have inconsistency in the way the mini-tracks are listed as some have brackets, some don't and others don't appear at all - all very confusing.

You were expecting clarity...?!

'For the victims...' was what I used to think it was called 'till I got hold of the original CD (it's the patrick allen bit?)

Maybe not, I'm in Devon away from the collection so cannot check.

I never thought it was 'Tag' (where did that name come from - gracenote?)

Anyway, the album version will always be the album version will always be shite in comparison.  Was the bridge knocked out to make way for Prince Charles' cum?  Very patriotic, but musically poo.

I can't believe I've not done this yet, but I'm going to replace the majority of side 2 with the originals (yes, Relax and War are also substandard to my ears.)  I'll keep PC's cum on it (erm...)
