Apparently it's a bit of a nonsense song lyrically.

sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me
sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me sock it to me
A little respect when you get home.

I've always wondered where the lyrics "Sock it to me biscuits now" comes from in two tribes, it just doesn't seem to make sense?  does anyone know??

Also a good question.  Wink

Had a look around and it appears "Sock It To Me" was a line repeated by celebrity guests on a US TV show called 'Laugh-In" from the 60's.

'Sock it to me' is a recognisable phrase( i.e. 'give it to me'), it's the 'biscuit' that has always puzzled me. i don't quite get that reference.

Crumbs!  That's a difficult question.

Are we sure that is the correct lyric?  I know it's printed on the cover of War 12", but it still sounds like "showing us good times" to me.

unless im mistaken the term biscuit can also be linked as a nickname to ronald reagan at some point i believe, but let me check out 1 other avenue on this.....

I heard many years ago that the use of "Biscuits" was in reference to a nickname for Ronnie Reagan aswell ...

Also, we had this topic a wee while back and there was a range of stuff  that came under the name of sock it to me ... like cakes etc etc .. Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login Login or Register Register

I guess somebody could always twitter or Facebook the man himself and ask him, see what he says ???

!  I'll bow to your superior knowledge.

No wonder the Japanese struggled with translation.  They probably guessed at the original lyrics.

The Gold Codes are the nuclear launch codes that are provided to the President of the United States of America, as well as the Vice President, in his role as a member of the National Command Authority. Prepared and changed daily by the National Security Agency, the code sequence is printed on a plastic card, nicknamed "the biscuit", which is similar to a credit card, that the President carries on his person.
